We have received several reactions to the decision to introduce extended routes with only fly fishing in Anån, Mittån and the restored stretches of electricity in Långåljusnan. For the most part, the attitude is anything from positive to very positive. But there are also some who think that the change is for the worse. They are not 'fly fishermen'’ and it is easy to understand that the new rules are perceived as restrictions you do not like, despite the availability of all other fishing.

In most cases, this has been shown to be due to the fact that the rules do not detect what is meant by ‘fly fishing’.. By fly fishing is meant fly fishing where you use a fly rod, spooky (“spinning a”) or long rod (the original method of ‘meta’ with fly; s k “dapping”). In all methods, you can use tafs with three hangers, thus three flies on the same tafs, attached to shorter paws, ‘Suspension’. The chance of getting fish is three times greater! You can even use the method for "trailer fishing" from a boat or harling fishing, drifting, what is generally called and associated with ‘trolling’.

Fly fishing with a long rod has been original for several centuries and was dominant well into the 1960s. It's a nice way to 'fly fly'. You can choose either a liquid 'dry fly'’ or fish deeper with ‘wet fly’’ or weighted nymphs. Especially during spring, early early summer or autumn with colder water is ‘angling’ with “streamer” a good choice. Among the most famous are Mickey Finn and Parmachene Bell who are especially appreciated by char but also trout, perch and rainbow.

In streams and narrow rivers, fly fishing with a long rod is a great experience that is recommended! Långå fishery conservation area has many small watercourses with brook trout, an outstanding delicacy that tastes best fried in butter! Crispy fried, served on crispbread, if you eat it whole, much like ‘chimney sweeps’ the crispy fried, the whole herring!
