Well-deserved success with unique images

It was a success even before the doors were opened to POGM, Hornsgatan 29 in Stockholm last Saturday when Caroline Nyiri and Elias Hammarlund from Långå opened their first exhibition of nature photographs. About thirty photographs of their already famous pictures were shown on the capital's most exhibition-dense stretch of painting, Photo, sculpture and design. Expectations were high both among exhibitors and the public, which immediately showed in a long queue that arrived in good time to take part in the offer.

The collection of photographs, which was shown now, are largely taken during the last year. Most motif choices can be found above all in Långå and the surrounding areas. Caroline, who moved to Långå last summer has been captivated by the surrounding nature and the rich wildlife captured by her camera with bears and hares in focus or with a golden eagle soaring in the mist over a fir forest close to the mountains. Scenery and mystery that enchant. Snapshots captured in their natural composition.

Caroline is a trained nature guide and has worked with it for several years.

Elias' owls are already well known, admired and rewarded. Recently with first prize in Radio Jämtland's competition where Elias' picture of the owl in the frost became the superior winner as 'Picture of the Year'. The image of the great horned owl flying straight towards the camera in the twilight is magical. It very likely has a given place in the future in the world's leading photo magazines and large-format installations. The photograph appears between them in the image above.

Elias Hammarlund has been living in Långå for several years and has established himself as a fishing guide, among other things, fly tyer and is secretary and culture manager on Långåfisket's board. With those interests, the step has not been far to develop the talent for nature photography with unique animals- and bird pictures in exciting environments.

-We are very pleased with all the attention we received and pleased that the demand for our images was so great, says Elias.

– This was important to us! A clear success that stimulates us in the plans we have for the future, Caroline says.
