The annual meeting with the Långå Fisheries Management Association attracted around thirty participants. The board gave an account of operations and results achieved during 2023. Sales amounted to 840 000 kroner compared to 1 060 000 the year before. The year's deficit of 84 000 SEK is balanced in a new account. The sale of fishing licenses amounted to approx 400 000 SEK. The auditors approved the discharge of liability for the board, which the meeting decided.
The big projects, among other things, the renovation of the current sections in Långåljusnan has been completed. There are signs of regrowth of trout and grayling and that biological diversity is being reestablished.
Långå FVOF is a partner in the Grundsjö project together with Fortum Sverige AB, county government, Härjedalen municipality and Särvsjön village community. The contract has been extended. The project celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The annual meeting approved the board's proposal about the project's plans for ECOSJÖ, a 'pond in the pond’ which retain water with opportunities for natural reproduction and nutrient production.
The annual meeting approved the board's budget for the financial year 2024 which includes, among other things, a project for fisheries conservation and rejuvenation of the stocks by transferring from certain ponds to waters that can support larger populations. The measure is part of Långåfisket's strategy to preserve the original fish species without cultivating and planting fish. At the same time, the risk of there being too many fish in certain waters is reduced, so-called thousand brothers.
Another project is to create a gathering place for various activities such as "FISHING LOCATION at Långå Skans". It will be a place for, among other things, 'meetings by the campfire', information, different themes and areas of knowledge and with places for training and practice in different fishing techniques. The stretch of Långåljusnan along the rampart has been opened for free fishing.
To new regular member, after Jens Andersson who resigned from re-election, has Anton Sundin, Långå, appointed. Anton Sundin is 23 year, born and has his own residence in Långå. A long-standing family with centuries-old lineage in Lånå. Student's degree from Torsta Naturbrukgymnasium in Ås, Jamtland, with a focus on Forestry and Hunting. Employed in Komimilla as a forest machine driver for felling and forest care. The biggest interest is hunting with dogs and snowmobile tours in winter. Anton Sundin has since 2022 been a deputy on Långå FVOF's board.
Therese Öberg, Långå, has resigned as auditor at her own request and Anette Andersson was elected in her place, born from Långå and holiday home there.
Otherwise, the board was re-elected. At the inaugural board meeting after the annual meeting in Långå FVOF, Kevin Dahlberg has been appointed vice chairman with a focus on managing the association's agreement in the Ground Lake project and role in project ECOSJÖN. Allan Blomkvist, Långå, is still the association's first vice-chairman. The division of labor between the vice-president positions is motivated, among other things, by the association's increasing involvement in the ECOSJÖN project.
Kevin Dahlberg is 28 year and graduated Forester at SLU 2018. Kevin was born in Hede and lives there with his family. He is purchasing manager in Stora Enso's forest division with responsibility for operations- and planning contract. Besides family, his interests are training, hunting and fishing. Kevin is also involved in the development of Sonfjällsbygden. Kevin Dahlberg was elected to Långå FVOF's board 2022 among other things with responsibility for landowner issues.
