Now it's time again for Långåfisket to meet the audience at Game Fair, the annual fair in Bruksvallarna the 3 and 4 August. And vice versa of course. Hundreds of visitors look into the Långåfisket stand to get information about everything related to fishing. Everyone is welcome!
New for this year is that Långåfisket offers a basic course in casting technique for fly fishermen! It can be compared to golf's 'green card', which provide the basics for the exercise itself and tell you which rules apply. Of course, you will receive proof that you participated in the exercise and received information. Since it is about fishing, it will be a 'blue card'. Långåfisket offers the training.
Casting technique in fly fishing
You will learn the basics of throwing technique, how to start, the equipment and how it works, rod technique, how to manage the fly line for successful casts and safety issues.
Fishing ethics
Fly fishing is close to nature fishing where the knowledge of the fish's habitat, insects and the fishing itself are the basis. Fly fishing ethics refers to basic perceptions of what is good or bad, what is good or bad, while morality is about what you do or don't do and how you behave at the fishing waters and with others who fish.
Fishing rules
For fly fishermen, the same rules apply as for everyone else who engages in fishing. The rules are based on such obvious things as that you must have a permit (fishing license or title) to catch fish, that the fish are protected during certain times of the year and that you may only use one rod at a time. But the rules also contain good advice on how to behave when fishing and how to respect others who are in the same place.
Långåfisket participates annually in several fairs and markets. At the beginning of the summer, the home ground was the market day in Långå and this fall it will be the fly fishing fair in Uppsala. Kent Kristoffersson is in the team participating in Långåfisket's stand in Bruksvallarna, Elena Micoletic, Elias Hammarlund, Helgi Jonsson, Margareta Selin and Eva Åslund.
