Personal responsibility for wise Fishing

Now it is important that we help more than ever before. The hot and dry summer has a number of consequences that are important to handle properly. It's not just us humans that are affected. For the fish, the conditions are perhaps even worse with limited opportunities to find cooler and thus oxygen-rich water. Therefore, it is important to fish with regard to those circumstances in order not to damage the fishery, especially in the smaller watercourses where the situation is becoming serious in places due to reduced water flow and unusually high water temperatures. This leads, among other things, to the fish gathering in deep enclosures and becoming easier to catch. Avoid fishing there and choose ponds instead, lakes and larger watercourses. But even there you should fish in moderation to avoid future problems.

Långå FVOF follows developments and conditions closely. If it proves necessary to close certain waters, we will do so. If this is the case, this will be announced on the website and on Facebook.

We get a lot of questions about the forest fires in Härjedalen. They ravage the southern parts of the landscape, in the area around Sveg and in the municipality of Ljusdal in Hälsingland. Wave 84 has been completely shut down at times. Therefore, go to the Swedish Transport Agency's website and update yourself on the conditions when choosing a route to Långå.

There is a total fire ban! This means that you are not allowed to light a fire even during organized breaks- and barbecue areas. You who smoke must make sure that you put out your cigarette safely. Don't throw farts out the car window. The ban applies everywhere and all the time!

You are personally responsible for fishing with adaptation and caution and that you respect the applicable rules with special regard to the prevailing situation. Your personal responsibility and common sense are the best guarantee that Långåfisket will be worth the name in the future as well! You are always welcome here!

Helgi Jonsson
Chairman of Långå FVOF

Janne Gabrielsson, fisheries manager in Härjedalen municipality says this:

Due to the current situation in our lakes, ponds and streams!
In the current heat wave, greatly reduces the flow of water in rivers and streams, at the same time as the water temperature is raised to a critical level for the fish.
When the flow decreases in streams and rivers, then the fish are collected in casings, and can become very easy to catch. Above all, streams act as nurseries and rearing environments for fry and smaller fish and should be left alone now. It can be easy to devastate a stock of e.g. trout if you fish too hard in the current situation.
Therefore, fish sparingly and follow the restrictions established by our fishing conservation areas!
Let's help each other, together we contribute to sustainable fishing, also in coming years!
Tack!
