Good annual results Grundsjöprojektet

Grundsjöprojektet operated by Fortum Generation AB, Härjedalen, Långå Fish Conservation Association and the County Administrative Board of Jämtland in order to save it worth protecting Grundsjörödingen in Grundsjön. In connection with power regulation, transfer from adjacent water systems where there are whitefish that have now established themselves in Grundsjön and compete with char. Whitefish and char does not make sense to the detriment of char. The project is therefore focused on reduction fishing for whitefish as well as cultivation and support planting of char.
During the last year, approx 10 000 sieves but a combined weight on closer 5 ton and thus provided the necessary space for the char.
Analyzes of the fish stocks in Grundsjön show that the stationary trout has increased in size, the so-called K factor (the ratio between height and weight) has increased by approx 10 percent. A strong increase in the weight of perch is also noted. It is not unusual to have perches on weights in between 1,5 and 2 kilo.
The project budget for 2017 amounts to 430 000 kroner, of which Fortum contributes 250 000, the county board and Långå FVOF 65 000 each, and Härjedalen 50 000 SEK.
Under 2017 cooperation will take place with Särvsjön's community association for reduction fishing in Upper Särvsjön.
