There is an idea of opening Grundsjön for spooks already after the icing. Current rules allow fishing in Grundsjön no earlier than two weeks before midsummer for fishing rights owners and villagers and one week before midsummer for the rest. One of the reasons is to compensate for the stretches of Långåljusnan that have been restored and need to be kept closed one year after the measure. The board of Långå FVOF will decide on the issue at its board meeting on 3 mars.

If Grundsjön will be opened earlier, it means that only rod fishing will be allowed. To avoid damage to the road network during the expiry period, certain sections may be kept closed to private traffic. Special rules for fishing are decided.

The beaches around Grundsjön are 4,5 miles long and offers interesting fishing in places.
