The activities of the Grundsjö project 2020

The agreement was renewed between the parties Fortum Sverige AB, Härjedalen, Långå FVOF and the County Administrative Board of Jämtland County and Särvsjöns Bysamfällighetsförening. The project's perspective is ten years and is organized as its own, separate unit in addition to the regular organizations of the contracting parties.

The business year 2020:

  • Due to too high temperatures with acute threat to char fry, it was decided to release them immediately 27 June after various rescue efforts, among other things through the production of ice to cool the water in the farm. At the end of the year, the remaining fry were released from the farm in Tännäs, 500 bisexual, 1 500 solitary as well 75 breeding fish, age 4 year.
  • 200 breeding fish, of which 150 females in custody at the fish farm in Tännäs.
  • Fortum Sverige AB commissioned EKOM AB in Hörnefors, Per Lundström, to make a feasibility study on the possibilities of implementing the idea of ​​Damm i Dammen and possible obstacles for whitefish migration through the tunnel from Övre Särvsjön. The structure of the feasibility study was presented in January.
  • The Russians were raised on Sunday 1 november 2020 and thus the year's reduction fishing was over. The net fishing was carried out according to plan 9 – 23 August.

In total has been landed 4 546 safes distributed on floating networks 2 240 pcs and pcs russians 2 306. The average weight is 450 gr for net-caught whitefish and 300 gr for whitefish caught in the Russians. The outcome from net fishing is on a par with before. summer 2020 was the first year when two Russians were used (one larger and one smaller) why there is no comparable data from the past. The fishing has been carried out in previously designated places, with deep nets introduced by fishing consultant Per Arne Holt-Seeland 2017. The by-catch in the directed reduction fishery is at an unchanged level below 3 % with 0,7 % char.

  • 800 kg whitefish delivered to Härjedalen municipality for canteens in schools and nursing homes.
  • The book GRUNDSJÖRÖDINGEN - presentation of the Grundsjö project came out of print in December at Incorema publishing house. The book can be ordered via info@langafisket.se
  • No observed effects of Corona pandemic.
  • At the last board meeting of the year, 28 december 2020, the main agreement was updated for 2021. The agreement runs with a ten-year perspective but is updated annually.

 

The costs for the Grundsjö project during 2020 amounted to 461 000 SEK. The result is preliminary and will be determined in connection with the financial statements in February. There are additional costs for the feasibility study on the Damm i Dammen project, which is financed by Fortum Sverige AB.
