The water situation and the fishing

After the abundant rainfall recently, we have high water flows within the Långå fisheries management area. This applies to both flowing water and ponds. Occasional damage may have occurred on the forest roads, which is why great caution is recommended.

The water flow in Långåljusnan downstream of the tunnel discharge from Långå power plant (45 on our map) varies, temporarily with strong peaks without warning and therefore general warning for rapidly increased flows from there!

There is also withdrawal from the Grundsjömagasinet to Mittån downstream of the dam. Warning that high flows can occur there. Corresponding conditions may apply downstream of Lossendammen and thus in Långåljusnan's current stretches above Rändhån (No. 45 on our map).

Water levels are expected to normalize within a week or ten days, but is of course dependent on whether there are new ones, greater amounts of rain.

As always, great caution applies when fishing with the safety measures we recommend, including life jacket, quite busy! More information here on the website under Fishing –> Fishing and Security.

Use of float ring, on point, canoes or similar and anchoring should not take place in flowing water even where they are permitted.

Fishing is open all the time! Welcome!
