"Well-being fish" was a clear message at the autumn meeting of the Långå fisheries conservation association. It was Torsten Kristoffersson who, together with Margareta Selin-Ring, was once again able to confirm and tell about the successful result of the control fish and reduction of fish stocks for habitat and growth of trout! Torsten and Margareta have for several years, sometimes together with Gunnel Kristoffersson, carried out the test fishing in the Unnssjöarna and a couple of ponds where the fish stocks have become too large with a risk of malnutrition. The conditions have been clarified through the test fish, there network, Russians and nets have been used to control and reduce the number of fish. This has led to the remaining fish becoming larger and more exciting as sport fish. Higher fat content means increased quality and taste experiences of the trout as food fish. Caught fish have been relocated to water with greater nutrient volume and better living space. It is another valuable result of the work.
-That the fish within the Långå fisheries management area should be 'well-being' is a goal that we succeed in achieving, said chairman Helge Jonsson, as a comment to the report. In Långåfisket, the fish is and remains number one and is prioritized in all the work that the fishing association does for conservation, care and use of the fish as a natural resource worthy of protection. We will never change that attitude. We understand that the fisherman comes second, because when everyone realizes that if there are fish, there are fishermen, he said.
Same card prices 2025
At the autumn meeting, unchanged prices for fishing licenses were also decided 2025. The sale of annual tickets will only take place through the local agents in Lånå. Their direct contacts with visiting anglers are valuable and facilitate handling, especially for the large number of people who own holiday homes in the fisheries management area and can buy special annual passes.
Varied and appreciated fishing 2024
Large variations in weather and temperatures have resulted in changing fishing during the summer half-year, but is mainly perceived as gas normal compared to previous years. Shifts in insect life and weather conditions are thought to be due to climate change.
The operations have been carried out according to agreed plans and the preliminary full-year result indicates that the budget is achieved both in terms of the sale of fishing licenses, supervision and maintenance, and investments.
Grundsjöprojektet, which is focused on preserving the unique Grundsjör trout in Grundsjön, engages Långå Fish Conservation Association as contractor. The reduction fishing for whitefish there has been carried out according to plan and will end shortly. Near 4 000 sikas have been caught and given habitat
for the protected ground sea trout. The groundwater project is owned by Fortum Sverige AB, The County Administrative Board, Härjedalen, Särvsjön village community and Långå Fishery Management Association.
Project ECOLAKE, which means that 'a lake in the lake through a pond in the pond' is formed is expected to start during 2025.
