Suddenly it happens! A word appears that describes everything and explains what you suspected but didn't put a comprehensible word on. A very common word, but too rarely used, about something that is typical, something 'characteristic' of something significant. An explanation that gives content to the fishermen in the waters of Långåfisket. The word is 'prosperity'. "Well-being fish in Långå" is a summary report 2024 from the gang that for many years worked with control fishing and rejuvenation within the Långå fisheries management area. An important mission within the focus areas of conservation, nurture and use native fish species as the immense natural resource they are in Långåfisket.
This invaluable effort is a link in more than three hundred years of fisheries conservation work. That is why we dare to welcome anglers with the words – “Welcome! It is served….” Behind this invitation are about fifty people who, to varying degrees,, with competence and interest, committed to voluntary work for today's and tomorrow's noble fishing in Långå. We even dare to promise – "You are welcome again!
At the beginning of the new fishing year, we offer fine ice cores, with the caveat that they may be unexpectedly thin! Now the noble fish in our waters have read their annual calendar and noted the promise of the return of light. The most active are fry and juveniles of Grundsjörödingen. As with all living creatures, the small ones are the hungriest due to too little energy reserves, but with eager ability to take on the life that lies ahead. That's how they've been here for thousands of years.
