Weather is discouraged last year

The preliminary results of operations 2017 is now clearly points to a marked decrease in the number of fishing licenses sold. The decline, record year before, points to the approximately 15 percent. Corresponding experiences are reported from several fisheries conservation areas with the common assessment that it was, above all the cold start of summer, which is the explanation.
– There were fewer fishing days during 2017. Not just in Långå. Other fisheries conservation areas have the same experience.
– Why did it happen the way it did?? Is there something that we can correct? In case of ice, what do we do then?? In any case, we are convinced that Långåfisket is appreciated and has no other signals. We even have reports that anglers experienced their best fishing here last summer, says Helge Jonsson, chairman of the fishing association.
The assessment is that the weather is the explanation. More chose other options although the most die-hard anglers braved the weather and came anyway.

The result from 2017 does not mean that Långåfisket will be marketed more or in a different way and there will essentially be an unchanged budget for 2018. What affected the result 2017 are, among other things, two large investments, partly in a freezer container for the Grundsjö project's whitefish catch, partly a storage building for the fishing association's boats and other equipment.
