Unchanged prices 2024

The autumn meeting decided that this year's fishing license prices should also apply 2024. There will therefore be no adjustments to card prices or other fees. Långåfisket's principles for pricing are based on the view that prices should be reasonable enough that everyone should be able to afford to fish in Långå and at least not be hindered by the price of fishing licenses.

The second principle is that the income from fishing licenses should cover the fishing association's management costs, fisheries management, maintenance and service. Finally – the third and final principle – no distribution of any surplus is left to the fishing rights owners. If there is a surplus, that money goes directly back to the person who fishes in the form of reasonable fishing license prices and care of fish and biotopes.

-Our original noble fish , trout, char, grayling and whitefish, plus perch, pike and lake are the natural capital that Långå Fiskevårdsomrøds Förening owns and has cared for for more than three hundred years. We will continue to preserve the natural resource worth protecting, nurture and use, says Helge Jonsson, who is chairman of Långåfisket's board. The fish is number one, fisherman number two. If there are fish, there are fishing and fishermen! That's our simple logic!

At the autumn meeting, the experiences and results of the Grundsjö project, which protects the unique char for the future, were presented. The project is owned by Fortum Sverige AB, Härjedalen, Långå Fiskevårdsförening, the county administration in Jämtland County and the Särvsjön village community association as an associated party. The project budget amounts to around 450 000 per year, of which Fortum accounts for two-thirds and the state via the county board for 60 000 SEK. The project is in a period of development and new ventures.

For a couple of years there has been a special plan for fisheries conservation measures in the smaller lakes where there are too many fish due to too few fishermen. One method is to capture fish and regroup them to other waters with greater nutrient availability. Net fishing to reduce populations has proven to be successful and the remaining fish have become larger.

Kevin Dahlberg, board member of the fishing association's board and employee of STORA-Enso, told about the company's investment in the care of water and aquatic environments for increased diversity. The investment is extremely welcome and significant for sustainable fish stocks, favorable conditions for other aquatic organisms, for insects and for all nature around our waters.
