Långå FVOF has held his autumn meeting with about twenty people as participants. Autumn meeting's actual task is to decide on next year's fees, that is, fishing license prices. The meeting decided that prices for next year, 2019, remains unchanged.
The principles for pricing are based on everyone having to be able to afford to fish and card prices must therefore be kept at a reasonable level but provide full cost coverage for the fisheries conservation association. A balanced surplus must guarantee the commitments that the fisheries management association has, among other things to be able to preserve Grundsjörödingen in the long term through the project where Fortum Sverige AB, county government, Härjedalen municipality and Särvsjön village community are included. No distribution is made to the owners, but the entire profit is reinvested in the business in the form of biotope conservation, supervision, services and investments. This means that a fishing license is actually worth three to four times more than what you pay.
Prices have been unchanged for many years. Through increased sales, the costs have been able to be covered in a satisfactory manner.
With the large investments being made now, among others in Långåljusnan, increases the supply of attractive fishing spots, which should lead to a review of card prices. The board will therefore review the price picture for fishing cards among comparable fishing conservation areas. What this may lead to will be reported at the next autumn meeting, 2019.
– The focus is still on following the principles that apply now, but it is natural to consider what essential values a fishing license contains, said Helge Jonsson.
Compared to what one is generally prepared to spend in the form of experiences and the exercise of various leisure interests, fishing is a very affordable variant, he believes. That the price level is the right one is also a signal of the quality on offer.
