Långå fishing area's association has held its annual autumn meeting with a good turnout of participants. The actual task of the autumn meeting is to decide on next year's fishing license prices and fees. At the suggestion of the board, the meeting decided to maintain the current prices next year as well. The principle of pricing is that there should be reasonable prices for all anglers but at levels that provide full cost coverage for operations and investments.
Sport fishing year 2022 coming to an end, but there are still many who take advantage of the mild autumn weather and visit Långåfisket. The experiences from spring and summer point to good fishing. For Långåljusnan through Långå, one of the best results in recent years is noted. For several ponds and watercourses, more fishermen and larger extractions are welcome to avoid the risk of too many fish and nutrient competition.
The preliminary financial results for the full year indicate that the budget is being maintained, which means that the sale of fishing licenses lands around 400 000 SEK. The money covers the costs of the operation and the surplus is reinvested in fishery care and service. No distribution is made to the shareholders.
The age limit for free fishing in Djuptjärn is changed and applies up to and including twelve years from now 2023. The board has gone through and analyzed the need for changed rules for harvesting fish, but stick with the current ones. However, the rules will be clarified and certain waters will be singled out for increased fishing.
Chairman Helge Jonsson, who is also chairman of the board of the Grundsjö project, announced that the Damm i Dammen project will be implemented and may become a pilot facility that demonstrates how to achieve natural reproduction of char in regulation reservoirs. Fortum Sverige AB will be the main financier. More interested parties are welcome.
Collaboration with Långå Skans begins as part of Långåfisket's cultural spring program and fishing promotion. This means, among other things, that Långåljusnan's beach along Skansen will be opened to free fishing for everyone. The usual rules found at www.langafisket.se/rad-regler also apply here.
The autumn meeting ended with a presentation of the ten-year refurbishment work by Långå Skans. Liselott Prestjan and Helge Jonsson invited the meeting participants to solemnly celebrate All Saints' Day at a gathering at Långå Skans, on Sunday 6 November o'clock 14.00.
