Långå fishing before quotas in Mittån and Anån 2026

For the first time in Långåfisket's history, it has been decided to introduce quotas in Mittån and Anån. This is because the rivers are sensitive environments with valued fishing and thus exposed to significant fishing pressure. For several years, the fishing pressure in both places has become so great that there are negative consequences with the risk of getting worse. This applies to the removal of fish but also wear and tear on the natural environment. The board of Långå FVOF has investigated several different options to deal with the problems and has come to the conclusion that, on a trial basis, quotas on fishing are introduced so that only a certain number of fishermen are allowed access per day from June to August. At its autumn meeting, Långå FVOF has decided to approve the current proposal the time 1 June – 31 August 2026.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
This means new management of fishing licenses for both rivers, Mittån and Anån within Långå FVO, and bookings and sales and accounting will be taken care of by Jan-Olof Östberg. For decades, Östberg has been a profile in Långåfisket both as a card agent and as the owner of the long-standing Långå Gästis with Jenny's cabins. Östberg has developed systems to complete the assignment with the conditions and the service needed. This means that it will not be possible to buy these cards on iFiske.se, but instead it will be done via 076-106 46 98
The allocation of fishing licenses will be limited to day licenses in the meantime 1 June – 31 August for 4 rods in Anån respectively 6 in Mittån. Taken 300 SEK per piece.

This also applies to owners of fishing rights, who will thus be included personally in the system, but without charge.

The trial period will be evaluated and analyzed so that the board can obtain a basis for decisions for the following years 2026.

Introducing quotas is a big but important step. This means restrictions for the angler and the owner of fishing rights, but we feel that we have a broad understanding, respect and a strong support for the measure, says Helge Jonsson, Chair in long FVOF. In the overall strategy for conservation, care and fishing, it is the fish that is number one as the unique and protection-worthy natural resource it is in Långåfisket, he says.
