The preliminary results report for the full year 2025 is now complete and shows a reduced sale of fishing licenses from 380 000 calculated to 2024 to approx 350 000 year 2025. The reduction was already foreseen 1 July when the first forecast pointed to even lower sales. The fishing recovered towards the end of the summer and it was still a decent result for the whole year.
The corresponding change applies to several fisheries management areas in Jämtland County and comparable areas in the rest of the country. A noticeable impact is always the weather and last summer's heat wave left a clear mark as the number of planned visits was canceled and the waters were far too warm to be fishable. In many places, fishing closed completely and in Långåfisket a state of readiness was taken, who is always prepared for such events, but no closure was decided. We have an advantage of knowledgeable fishermen who understand how to handle the situation, the increased supervision could ascertain.
The sales statistics speak for themselves, and there you can sense different spontaneous positions and well-thought-out behaviors that our anglers have. The 24-hour tickets decreased by approx 10 % and amounted to 85 000 SEK. The weekly tickets were reduced by 15 % and stayed on 87 000 kroner, while the three-day cards increased by just over 25 % and reached 41 000 SEK.
There is a clear trend from recent years that the stays in Långåfisket are getting longer. This is confirmed by the fact that the number of weekly passes has increased significantly and long-distance visitors choose both to stay more days and some choose weekly passes to increase flexibility and be able to also visit other fishery management areas during their visit to Härjedalen. The same applies to many who are visitors or cottage owners in the Vemdalen area, where you can switch to several fishing spots during a week, says Helge Jonsson, Chair in long FVOF.
The enclosure for 2025 is around one million kroner, including reduction fishing in the Grundsjö project.
The board of Långå FVOF held its year-end meeting for 2025 the 25 February and the annual report is due 10 mars. Annual meeting it will be 30 mars kl 19.00 on Applications & Fun-room in long.
