For the new year has been with a great deal during the year that has passed. I'm not going to say 'after all' but 'anyway'. The term to like the situation has been relevant even though one did not like it, but adaptation is part of the liver's subtleties. 2020 did not turn out as we had expected and we will remember the trials we were subjected to. In addition to sorrows and sorrows, we also got food for thought when we discovered that we can change to a way of life that is more sustainable and that Sweden is fantastic with its nature and fishing waters. Welcome back!
The hopes ahead 2021 are numerous and more well thought out than normal. Among the joys, it will be nice to be able to inaugurate Långåljusnan's stream stretches for the summer. They are now 'longer' with curves, Frame, bends and turns similar to how the river was and even how it was supposed to be shaped in and by nature!
I can finally dare to say that since our Lord created the Långåljusnan in the beginning of time, it is the Långå fishing association that completed it 2020 with backing from the county board, Härjedalen, Hav- and water authority, agriculture Department, The EU and the Anglers. Plus more than a thousand hours of volunteering, unpaid work! When I launched the idea in the New Year 2015 I sensed that there were more people who were interested, which turned out to be true.
As promised, there are now deep grooves with the ability to hold large trout and grayling that are attracted to migrate in current grooves and rapids. The oxygen content has increased because the water streams are aerated and mixed in a larger volume of water. There are actually more water in the river because it revamped and can hold more water than before. Aquatic organisms, both plants, fish and insects have been läplatser and residence for its tranquility, for rest, natural foraging and reproduction. There are deep hollows shaded by the southern shore's tree curtains with water that can withstand drought and heat in harsher climates.
Långåfisket's River keeper and quality manager, Per-Ola Persson, laid the last stone in the channel just upstream of Skälningshån in May and thus marked the finish line for the Långåljusnan project 2020. Fishing right holders have the right to household fishing without a catch limit, the vital tributary received the same facelift during the summer. Some shorter sections cleared of waterways have been preserved as industrial historical monuments.
Another foster child for Långåfishing is the preservation of Grundsjörödingen for all time. We do it in good company with Fortum Sverige AB, Härjedalen, The County Administrative Board in Jämtland County and the Särvsjön village community. Our common goal is to create conditions for Grundsjörödingen to continue as a rarity in Grundsjön. In the newly published book 'Grundsjörödingen' you will find a description of the rescue operation, now with a breakthrough for the principle of Damm in Dammen. At least in the form of a preliminary study. The book can be requested via info@langafisket.se
A stay in Lånå does not only mean fishing. There is much to discover at 'Ljusnans Pärla', including Långå Skans, a defense historical cultural monument with constant topicality about the misery of war and the importance of peace. The 'Tomb of the Unknown Soldier' was completed there, the first, the memorial monument in Sweden of its kind, honoring the forty soldiers who rest there. The Crown Prince couple Gustaf Adolf and Louise wrote their names on another memorial stone that 20 July 1932. The name signatures have received new gold, as in the five centimeters that the great-grandson Gustaf promised to fill in when he visits Långå together with the venerable Dunkrokens Gille in June 2021.
There is a harmonious balance between natural quality and quality of life in Långå. We must continue to preserve that resource as a resource worthy of protection to be used in all the years to come. We start with 2021!
With kind New Year's greetings from the board and all employees of Långåfisket!
Helgi Jonsson
