Christmas is one of our biggest holidays with historical roots. The very fact that we celebrate it makes us links in the stretches of the family line both backwards and forwards.

A holiday is a setting for something important, something with meaning. A frame where the bright colors emphasize the happy message of what is important with scents and tones that attest to one's feeling for the important. The holiday contains historical traditions, desires and community. During the holiday we gather, meet each other regardless of where we happen to be, regardless of time and distance.

Community lives within us as our personal asset, as a gift to those we want to share it with. Community links us together in the unreserved promise to help each other, to exist and to be. We have the right to refer to ourselves as 'we'!

And it is now that the sun sinks to the bottom of its arc. Now it turns around, we say and like the fish we feel it in our bodies. As soon as the core ice arrives, our new fishing year begins. It brightens.
