The fish year 2022 – Annual report
Långå fishing has been claimed for more than three hundred years as a natural resource worthy of protection, evidently late 15 May 1716.
The watchword in the plan for Långåfisket is "conserve, care and use' with a focus on the original fish species, aquatic organisms and biotopes through control, supervision and measures in ongoing management, regulations and through an extensive investment program. The focus then concerns the angler who is offered memorable experiences through Långåfisket. Collaboration with relevant actors in society such as the county board, the municipality, Anglers, Fortum Sweden AB, I:s rural program and Sweden's Agricultural University, SLU with several connections to the larger contexts, perspectives and are important co-financiers in the projects.
The number of fishermen coming from outside is about unchanged 1 200 per year. Total number of fishing trips (fishing opportunities) is closer 15 000, which is explained, among other things, by multi-day- and weekly cards and that one and the same fisherman can 'regroup' to a couple of three other places per day. All income and externally provided funds are used for investments in conservation and biotope care, with an emphasis on fishery conservation, management, environment and climate effects. No dividend is paid to the owners. The value of a fishing license is approximately four times greater than the fee.
About fifty people were involved in the activity on a voluntary basis. Their efforts are of immense importance for the quality that Långåfisket can offer.
Turnover increased by 312 000 and amounted to 1 058 871 of which sales of fishing licenses 404 700 which is almost the same level as the year before by a thousand Swedish kroner. Because it contains a small price adjustment and increased number of years- and multi-day cards, this means a slight decrease in the number of visitors. It is the large projects that most affect turnover.
