Go fishing or not? That's the question.

We encourage thoughtful and responsible fishing in lakes and ponds instead of flowing water, except for long-Ljusnan where you can fish and have now a very good fishing with good access to big trout and perch around a kilo. We have had a decent amount of rain in recent days to increase the flows of rivers and streams with welcome oxygenated water to the fish sought refuge in isolated deep caverns where. We advise against fishing in these waters until further notice because it takes time for the fish to recover from the stressful situation they experienced. And it takes time for them to return to the places they fled from in connection with the drought and which unfortunately has occurred malnutrition because of drained areas. It is still too early to know if the fish have been damaged by the situation and if so, what it can move about and what it can lead to.

The waters must have time to stabilize the natural conditions. We have never experienced a summer such as this, with the consequences it had for aquatic organisms. Undrained distances in streams and rivers has led to losses that it will take time to repair the natural conditions of the whole ecosystem.

We follow the course developments very closely and has the expertise for analyzes. The conclusions of these is the basis for how we can allow fishing in our waters. Our number one priority is always fish. This applies even in normal circumstances with particular attention to the conditions now. And there we must all pull together to care for the fish.

All are welcome to fish here with the personal responsibility that is needed to ensure the qualities of Långåfisket in the future! Welcome!
