It is during the day 500 years ago Gustav Vasa was elected king in Strängnäs 1523. The country then entered a new era that shaped the nation state of Sweden. The anniversary is noted and honored with a flag at Långå Skans. To the defense historical cultural relic, Långå Skans, everyone is welcome during the day to celebrate the anniversary in their own way and manifest peace in Sweden.

It would take some time 1645 until Sweden got its current borders. Through the peace in Brömsebro, Härjedalen became, Jämtland and Gotland Swedish landscape. 177 years after Gustav Vasa's accession, the current redoubt was built in Långå summer 1700.

To follow the exciting and impressive project, you will from it 28 June can follow the construction in officer C Bruchner's diary via the website www.langaskans.se until the completion of the redoubt on 8 september 1700. It is a very interesting and detailed description and story.

The project group at Långå Skans has the cultural personality Erik J. Bergström received his rewrite of the protocol as now, with great gratitude, is made public.
